ELEMENTARY (1st – 5th Grades)

Our elementary school curriculum includes a well-rounded mix of subjects and activities designed to build foundational skills and knowledge for young learners, from 1st-5th grades. Below are the core components of our elementary curriculum:

Core Academic Subjects

Islamic Studies, Arabic, and Quran classes for our elementary students focus on providing a foundation in faith, language, and spiritual practice appropriate for young learners. Arabic and Quran classes consist of three levels: Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginning. Here is a breakdown of our purposes and topics covered:
  1. Islamic Studies

    • Purpose: Introduce basic Islamic principles, values, and practices to foster a strong moral foundation.

    • Topics Covered:

      • Faith (Aqeedah): Basics of belief in Allah, Prophets, Angels, the Quran, and the Day of Judgment.

      • Stories of the Prophets: Age-appropriate storytelling to instill moral lessons.

      • Islamic Etiquette (Adab): Manners in daily life, kindness, respect for elders, and cleanliness.

      • Prayer (Salah): How to pray, basic supplications (duas), and significance of salah.

      • Seerah (Life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him): Simple stories about his life and character.

  2. Arabic Language

    • Purpose: Equip students with basic Arabic skills to understand the Quran and Islamic texts.

    • Topics Covered:

      • Alphabet and Pronunciation: Mastery of Arabic letters and sounds.

      • Reading and Writing: Building simple words, sentences, and recognizing Quranic vocabulary.

      • Basic Grammar: Introduction to nouns, verbs, and common phrases.

      • Conversational Arabic: Basic greetings, questions, and responses to encourage verbal practice.

  3. Quran Studies

    • Purpose: Enable students to recite and understand the Quran with proper tajweed (rules of recitation).

      • Memorization (Hifz): Start with short surahs (e.g., Al-Fatihah, An-Nas, Al-Falaq).

      • Tajweed: Simple rules for correct pronunciation and recitation.
