Our High School Program at IScGKC focuses on preparing students for a challenging, fast pace, and dynamic future. Ensuring our students receive instruction that is applicable and comprehensive to prepare for high school and post-secondary education is our priority.

Islamic Studies, Arabic, and Quran (ISAQ) curriculum for high school is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic theology, Arabic language proficiency, and Quranic studies. Arabic and Quran classes consist of three levels: Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginning. The structure and content include the following components:

  1. Islamic Studies
    This subject focuses on understanding Islam's principles, beliefs, and practices, alongside historical and ethical aspects. Key topics often include:

    • Aqeedah (Islamic Creed):

      • Understanding the concept of Tawheed (monotheism), Prophethood, and the Hereafter.

      • Study of the Five Pillars of Faith.

    • Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence):

      • Understanding the rules of worship (prayer, fasting, zakat, and Hajj).

      • Introduction to personal and societal laws in Islam.

    • Seerah (Life of the Prophet Muhammad, PBUH):

      • Chronological study of his life, from birth to prophethood and later years.

      • Analysis of his leadership, battles, and teachings.

    • Islamic History and Civilization:

      • History of early caliphates and Islamic empires.

      • Contributions of Islamic scholars to science, arts, and culture.

    • Akhlaq (Islamic Ethics):

      • Character-building lessons inspired by Islamic values.

      • Emphasis on honesty, patience, humility, and respect.

  2. Arabic Language
    The Arabic component aims to develop linguistic skills for reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Arabic, particularly for Quranic comprehension. Typical aspects include:

    • Grammar and Syntax:

      • Study of Arabic grammar (Nahw) and morphology (Sarf).

      • Sentence structure and verb conjugations.

    • Vocabulary Building:

      • Enhancing vocabulary through Quranic, classical, and modern Arabic texts.

    • Reading and Comprehension:

      • Analysis of classical Arabic texts, poetry, and prose.

      • Exercises to improve understanding of Quranic Arabic.

    • Writing Skills:

      • Developing proficiency in composing essays, letters, and summaries in Arabic.

    • Speaking and Listening:

      • Conversational Arabic for daily and religious contexts.

  3. Quranic Studies
    This part of the curriculum emphasizes memorization, recitation, and understanding of the Quran. It often includes:

    • Tajweed (Rules of Quranic Recitation):

      • Learning proper pronunciation and intonation for recitation.

      • Application of Tajweed rules in daily recitation.

    • Memorization (Hifz):

      • Memorizing selected chapters or the entire Quran, depending on the program.

    • Tafseer (Quranic Exegesis):

      • Studying the meanings and interpretations of verses.

      • Understanding the context of revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul).

    • Quranic Themes:

      • Exploring themes like justice, mercy, family, and guidance.

    • Application in Daily Life:

      • Reflecting on Quranic teachings and applying them to real-world situations.

Integration and Assessment

  • Projects and Activities:

    • Research papers on Islamic history or ethics.

    • Oral presentations on Quranic themes or Seerah topics.

  • Assessments:

    • Written exams, memorization tests, and oral recitations.

    • Language skills evaluated through essays and conversation exercises.

The curriculum's overarching goal is to cultivate a balanced and spiritually enriched understanding of Islam, linguistic proficiency in Arabic, and a strong connection to the Quran, preparing students to navigate both religious and secular contexts effectively.

C.O.D.E. (Center of Differentiated Education) Programs:

This program is offered by public schools for gifted and talented students. Teachers will recommend students for this program based on their MAP test scores, classroom observations, report cards, and individual achievements. After the students have been identified by their teachers, a staff employee from their school district will test them to see if they qualify.

11th & 12th GRADE STUDENTS

We have the following programs for our 11th and 12th grade students if they meet the institution’s requirements:

MCC Dual Credit Program - Students may choose to attend a local MCC college, such as Longview Community College, Johnson County Community College, or Penn Valley Community College, to obtain their high school diploma from IScGKC.

Missouri A+ Program – This program is a merit-based scholarship that provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools meeting specific requirements to receive two years of college paid tuition. Please visit this website for more information:
