ABOUT ISLAMIC SCHOOL OF GREATER KANSAS CITY

Principal's Welcome,

We are a private school nationally accredited by AdvancED.  We provide all courses required by the state of Missouri, in addition to Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic classes to all of our students from Preschool through 10th grade.

All students deserve the opportunity to be respected and loved in their learning environment. The school environment should be a place where parents, teachers, and administrators are excellent role models for younger generations.

We strive to provide a nurturing learning environment where all students are treated equitably and not discriminated against on any basis.

We also welcome all parents to join our PTCA (Parents/Teachers/Community Association) so that they can get involved and help our school with continuous improvements.

Please bring us new and fresh ideas.  We are ready to listen!

Sincerely,

Saba Hamouda
Principal

Our Philosophy

We believe that education is a partnership between, teachers, students, parents, and the community.  A successful educational program is one that values every student, recognizes student-learning styles and motivates each student to reach his/her utmost potential. This requires dedicated, highly qualified staff, strong curricula and well-organized school structure.  Learning is a process facilitated by qualified teachers to motivate students to be creative, think critically, and problem solve, while nurturing the mind, body, and soul.

Our History

The Islamic School of Greater Kansas City (IScGKC) was established in 1989 in the Masjid basement with about 20 students total in PK thru 12th grade.  In 1997 a new building was established for all 75 students of IScGKC.  As we continued to grow, another new building was added, becoming home to the gym and IScGKC classes for 5th thru 10th grades.  In 2010, IScGKC received our first national accreditation with AdvancED.  Many more improvements have been made including a Science Lab, a new lunch cafeteria, and a remodeled Daycare facility.  Now our school enrolls around 300 students per year. Alhamdoliliah!
